The Royal Darwin Show means two things; firstly, a public holiday. Secondly a weekend jam-packed full of fun! It’s all happening at the Darwin Showgrounds and Exhibition Centre, and families are expected to descend in their droves to celebrate all things Territory. It is the oldest event on the Darwin calendar and is as much-loved as ever.
There will be a feast of agricultural competitions, with residents showcasing their cattle, horses, goats and much more. For budding chefs, there are junior cook offs, while aspiring photographers will also get their “shot” at a chance of top prize. The Ray White Bayside team are holding in-office auditions to find our best crafts person, but we think we’ve probably left it a little late this year to be a part of it all!
Not in the mood for some healthy competition? That’s okay too because the show is host to an array of stalls filled with Territory trinkets, edible delights and icy cold beverages. Kids will be kept entertained with a range of activities throughout the day. Oh, and don’t forget to sample the fairy floss – that’s a huge favourite amongst us here at Ray White Bayside. Anybody attending has strict instructions to return to the office with this sweet treat!
Tickets for the event are $20 for adults, while children under five are free. There are great value family pass options available too, from $50 for a family of 5 (Three children under 14 years old).
Transport NT will be running buses over the weekend to and from the event, so visit their website for more information at https://nt.gov.au/driving/public-transport-cycling/bus-journey-planner and save yourself the hassle of driving and securing parking! That said, the parking is always pretty good at the show, particularly if you arrive early!
From all the team at Ray White Bayside, we hope you and your family have a fun, safe weekend at the Show!
