As you probably figured out, Australia is a pretty car-loving country, with the great majority of people getting behind the wheel to get from A to B. One event that’s fast approaching however, aims to inspire Aussies to rethink that natural inclination when it comes to the daily trek to work.
National Ride2Work Day is a fun event held right around Australia in October, and this year it’s coming up on Wednesday 14th October. The day itself exists to encourage ordinary Australians to ditch the car for the bike when embarking on the daily commute to work.
Frequent riders can encourage their work colleagues to try riding to work, and those new to getting on the bike can see for themselves if it’s a viable way to get to their place of work. Of course, it all depends on your proximity to your workplace from your home and thankfully in Darwin, chances are you’re not located too far from your employment.
A few of the team here at Ray White Bayside already swear by this healthy mode of transport, and we think we might be able to convince a few others to get onboard for this day at the very least! The event website at https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/general/programs/3025/ answers a number of questions you may have about the event, and will help provide you with ideas to make your Ride2Work Day event a success! Registrations are still open, and you simply register via this website.
