Forget battling the shopping centre crowds this Christmas and come to the Waterfront instead!

By Korgan Hucent

That’s because the Saltwater Craft Fair is on again!  Scheduled for Sunday 23rd November from 10am-3pm, it’s just in time for Christmas!  This year, it’s expected there will be more than 90 local artists and craftspeople showcasing and selling their marvellous creations, with the beautiful and relaxed backdrop that is Darwin Harbour and the sprawling Waterfront lawns.

It’s got to beat trying to find a car space at Casuarina or Palmerston and queueing up at check outs just so you can get out of the place!  Here at Ray White Bayside, we know that pain that is the Christmas retail rush, but thanks to the Saltwater Craft Fair, you have an out!  Just get in your car, park in any number of the Darwin Waterfront parking spaces and you’re good to go.

Everything from fun kris kringle gifts to ceramics and handmade jewellery, there’s something for everybody.  Mosaics, sculptures, textiles, paintings, soaps and so much more!

The really great thing about Chrissy shopping at the Saltwater Craft Fair is that every item has been made by hand and by locals, so you are supporting local businesses, as opposed to big, faceless companies.  This wonderful event supports local artists across the Top End, and it represents an amazing opportunity for the community in Darwin to support its homegrown artists!

So why not head to the Darwin Waterfront for a spot of morning tea or lunch, and browse through the markets and make a dent in your Christmas shopping list?  You don’t have to endure the pain and insanity of the retail rush, so say no to the wailing and gnashing of teeth of that and see for yourself why the Saltwater Craft Fair at the Darwin Waterfront is such a huge hit with locals and visitors alike!
