If you care about the less fortunate and love the idea of making a difference, then why not check out The Territory Walks Against Hunger 2015? This exciting event will be held on Saturday 10th October and provides participants, as well as spectators, with the opportunity to learn more about hunger and how it hurts even our local community.
A non-competitive and leisurely walk, the walk starts by the waterfront from Darwin Trailer Boat Club, and proceeds to East Point and back, representing an easy 7km return walk. Participants raise money by securing sponsors, and all proceeds go to an amazing charity called Foodbank NT.
Foodbank NT is the Northern Territory’s largest food relief charity and last year rescued almost 160,000 kilos of food that was set to be dumped as waste. Instead, this fabulous charity converted all of that food into almost 220,000 meals for those in need – children, families, the elderly – you name it! A non-denominational, community-supported non-profit organisation, Foodbank makes a difference, and through events like this, you can help this organisation reach even more people and do even more good!
Our team here at Ray White Bayside are encouraging our own staff and clients to be a part of something really special. Something that truly makes a positive impact on the lives of others. To find out more about this incredible initiative visit: https://www.everydayhero.com.au/event/HungerWalk2015
