What do you get when you combine Darwin Symphony Orchestra with Pink Floyd, the Beatles, ABBA and Led Zeppelin?

By Korgan Hucent

The ConoccoPhillips Symphony at the Darwin Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre of course!  An annual event unlike any other, it’s when the Darwin Symphony Orchestra (DSO) plays the big hits of some of the world’s biggest musical sensations!  Now in its 11th year, the 2016 concert which will be held on Saturday 25th June will feature the amazing works of Pink Floyd!

This iconic 70’s band has so many hits, loved the world over and by many generations.  Can you imagine the DSO playing progressive and psychadelic music?  If you just didn’t think it would be possible, well you’re going to be absolutely blown away by what these professional musicians can really do.

Artistic Director/Chief Conductor Matthew Wood will be leading the performance, and he has no doubt prepared the DSO to continue the trend that has made the ConocoPhillips Symphony a major event for Darwin.  You can expect to hear all of your favourite Pink Floyd hits delivered in a mesmerizing format by the DSO. It quite literally will be a night to remember for all the right reasons.

Gates for the event open at 5pm with the concert starting at 6.30pm, so be sure to prepare a picnic basket with all the snacks and treats you could ever want!  Entry to the event is by gold coin donation, with the proceeds going directly to the fabulous work of the DSO!

And if you see any of the Ray White Bayside team at this fantastic, must-go event, be sure to give us a wave and a g’day!
