Two reasons to celebrate this Queen’s long weekend…and the second reason is Greek Glenti!

By Korgan Hucent

Great news folks, with another long weekend is coming up compliments of the Queen (even though it’s not her actual birthday), and the Queen’s Birthday long weekend is set to be even bigger for Darwin, because on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June is Greek Glenti!

Put simply, it’s two jam-packed days full of fun, when the Greek community of Darwin come together to dish out plenty of great food, wine, culture, entertainment, music and dance! The Greeks really know how to party, and with free entry to this event at Bicentennial Park in the city, everybody is invited!

At the Glenti, you’ll experience loads of acts from both the local area and interstate, watch mesmerising dancing and music and admire the vibrant Greek traditional costumes – of which there are sure to be plenty throughout! The Glenti is actually the Northern Territory’s largest event of ethnic celebration, with thousands set to descend on Bicentennial Park to be a part of it. Family friendly, you can bring the kids and be sure that there’s something for everybody.

In a recent discussion here at Ray White Bayside real estate, we found it hard to choose the best part about Glenti, basically coming to the consensus that the food and wine, combined with the entertainment is what really makes the event so amazing! Add to that of course the amazing and friendly Greek hospitality, and you’re definitely guaranteed to have a great time at Glenti!

With the weather really starting to get nice here in Darwin at this time of the year, Glenti is sure to be an enjoyable experience, where Greek culture basks in the Darwin dry season sunshine.
