The Best Things in Life Are Free…and so is the Leanyer Water Park come to mention it!

By Korgan Hucent

Just recently when we were chatting here among our team at Ray White Bayside real estate, the topic of the Leanyer Water Park came up. It’s an amazing recreational water park boasting numerous waterslides and swimming pools, and perhaps most incredibly, it’s totally free to enjoy! So many of our clients who are new to Darwin just can’t seem to get over the fact that a facility that is as clean and modern as this, doesn’t even cost a cent to visit.

Owned and operated by City of Darwin, Leanyer Water Park is managed by the YMCA and is open every day during school holidays and on public holidays. Throughout the school year, the hours of operation are 10am until 7pm Wednesday to Sunday. Lifeguards are also a constant presence at the park, however parental supervision of children in and around the water is always absolutely essential.

Here are some of the fabulous attractions on offer at the park:
• Three coloured waterslides (minimum height to ride the slides is 110cm)
• Water playground with loads of fun activities
• Main swimming pool with slightly sloping sandy bottom and shaded areas
• Shallow and shady toddler pools, cascading into the main pool
• Covered playground
• BBQ facilities and kiosk
• Basketball court and skate park

The quality of the park’s attractions and facilities makes it a popular venue for family gatherings and children’s parties.
