Our favourite day of the year is coming up – Territory Day! Now we don’t like to blow our own trumpet but here in the Top End, we do fireworks right!

By Korgan Hucent

On July 1st, Mindil Beach will once again be jam-packed with locals and tourists alike to enjoy the market food, live music concert and of course, the spectacular fireworks display! Oh, and this year, Territory Day lands on a Saturday, so you can party all day and have the whole day Sunday to recover! The Ray White Bayside team are going to make a night of it, and you should as well!

The event will commence with the market stalls opening at 3pm, followed by the start of the free concert at 4pm. Aussie chart topper Pete Murray will be headlining this year, and supporting him are rock pop sensations, Killing Heidi and NT Triple J unearthed winner, Resin Moon and young Territory artist, Isaac Smalley. As usual, the concert will be wrapped up with the amazing firework show at 8pm.

Parking will be limited on the day, but the City of Darwin are offering a free bus service from the city between 3pm and midnight. All you have to do is tell the driver that you’re going to Mindil and they will let you on for free! How great is that?

So, remember to head down pretty early to get your parking place and to secure your perfect sunset and fireworks viewing spot – bring your chairs, picnic blankets and the whole family along for what’s set to be another unforgettable evening!
