The dragon fly heralds the beginning of the dry, cloudless skies, festival fever and the Mindil Markets! The Ray White Bayside team have spotted a few dragon flies already, and just in time it seems, as Sunday 7th May is the annual Saltwater Craft Fair. On Mother’s Day, it is the much lusted after day in the Dry where lovers of craft and all things artisan come together.
The craft fair is being held at Darwin Waterfront, which will play host to many talented Territorians. Expect a range of hand crafted ceramics, textiles, jewellery and much more for sale. If an excuse for shopping isn’t enough to convince you, there will also be live music on the day. You can’t go wrong with fantastic live entertainment, and there’s sure to be plenty of it on this day!
It is a wonderful opportunity to grab a rug, pack a picnic, and take mum down to celebrate her special day. For those who aren’t game enough to choose a gift for mum, she can even pick one herself at the market! If the idea of a basket-based brunch is not appealing, there is always the option of choosing one of the fabulous waterfront restaurants for a light bite or some cocktails. Or perhaps a nice glass of bubbly for your well-deserving mum?
This is will definitely be a Mother’s Day to remember, and what a way to start off the dry season! For more information on the Saltwater Craft Fair, be sure to visit http://northernterritory.com/darwin-and-surrounds/events/mothers-day-saltwater-craft-fair
