Join the World’s Greatest Shave 2017 to help beat blood cancer!

By Korgan Hucent

It’s that time of year again. Courageous people all over the country are shaving their heads for the World’s Greatest Shave and to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma are types of blood cancer and they can develop in anyone, at any age, at any time. There are more than 60,000 Australians living with blood cancer or related disorders, and approximately 35 people are diagnosed every day. Sadly, an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours, so, it’s important we help raise funds to help research in to improve survival.

The World’s Greatest Shave began in 1998 and since then, has raised absolutely incredible amounts of money towards the fantastic cause! You can very easily get involved too, but don’t worry, if you’re not up for chopping off your luscious locks, you can colour your hair too!

One of the more exciting things to do is obviously get the blokes to wax their legs – or chest or back – where ever they’re hairiest hey?  Separate the men from the boys! Not sure if the guys here at Ray White Bayside Real Estate know yet, but there are plans for them to go home a lot smoother soon!

As one of Australia’s biggest fundraisers, it’s all about having fun and raising money for a good cause. You will make a difference by giving families affected by blood cancer, the emotional and practical support they need. You will also fund vital research, which will overall improve the quality of life of those living with blood cancer.

Head to the page www.worldsgreatestshave.com for ideas on how to fundraise, and they will even set up a page for you too! It’s so easy! Let’s do our part and help fight blood cancer.
