Jog for Jugs on Sunday 30th October and do your thing for breast cancer research!

By Korgan Hucent

Time to get the pink on and your running shoes, to hit the beach for the annual event, Jog for Jugs which is coming up on Sunday 30th October.  A national event founded back in 2011, Jog for Jugs is a fun, non-competitive event which involves jogging along the beach to raise valuable funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Breast Cancer Network Australia.  The event itself is a registered charity which encourages healthy lifestyle and positive choices.

In Darwin, this event kicks off at Mindil Beach (near the green SLSC containers) on Sunday 30th October from 7.30am until 9am, so it won’t be too hot!  Registration is just $10 per person, and it is an all ages event.  You can register by visiting the event website at www.jogforjugs.org.au.  On the day, you can also purchase singlets at $15 and handbands for $4, again with all proceeds going to the amazing work being done by the major breast cancer foundations.

Come along on the day, even if you aren’t running to throw your support behind the participants, and you can buy merchandise and donate on the day as well.  Alternatively, if you’re not going to be around on the day, you can donate online to this wonderful cause.  You can donate by visiting the donation section of the event website at: http://jogforjugs.org.au/campaigns/donate/.

So far, this year’s national campaign has raised a whopping $80k so far, which will certainly contribute to furthering this incredible cause.  Be sure to do your bit for breast cancer research and support and we look forward to seeing you at Mindil for the jog!  For more information on this event, you can check out the event page at www.jogforjugs.org.au or you can jump onto the event’s Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/jogforjugsaustralia.
