The Garrmalang Festival returns to Darwin at the end of the month to give us a vibrant and modern experience of Indigenous culture.
From the 26th – 28th May, the three-day long culture festival will be coming to Darwin Entertainment Centre to celebrate the diversity of the Indigenous and non-Indigenous community here in our beautiful Top End.
We will be treated to a wonderful variety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural music, art, dance – even cabaret and theatre! It will be a fantastic family friendly and educational occasion, with classes and workshops too! Bring the whole gang along to learn about these amazing cultures. You’ll be amazed at the new knowledge you’ll acquire and you’ll have some fun as well no doubt!
The festival will showcase some of Australia’s most talented Indigenous performers, including Djuki Mala, the Indigenous dance group and YouTube sensations, who won the best dance at Adelaide and Perth Fringe, plus many more! We get to see what incredible Indigenous talent our Territory really has to offer.
Prices for each show and event range from free to $100, and discounts are given to student and concessions. Oh, and here is a little fact that we learnt here at the Ray White Bayside Real Estate Office… Garrmalang is the Larrakia word for the Darwin CBD region!
