Go for a walk or a run this Father’s Day!

By Korgan Hucent
This year’s Run with Dad Father’s Day Run is scheduled for Sunday 4th September at Lake Alexander at East Point Reserve in Fannie Bay. Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Ray White Bayside office, a few of us will be lacing up our running shoes and powering our way through the course, either by walking or running. The event kicks off at 7am for a 7.30am start, so get there early to prepare!
This charity event aims to raise vital funds and awareness of Prostate Cancer and you can pre-register for the event by visiting: www.runwithdad.com.au. Pre-registration is just $10 and every cent of that will go towards the cause, and with this disease taking the lives of more than 3000 men each year, it’s a cause we simply need to get behind!
There are two options available to participants, with both a 4km and 8km fun run/walk scheduled. Have some fun with Dad and your family and friends and remember: you don’t have to be an elite athlete to be a part of it. In fact, kids are being encouraged to take part in the fun run/walk and will have loads of fun with their family.
The event starts and finishes at Lake Alexander and on the day, there will be fun activities for the kids in the form of jumping castles, entertainment, food, drinks and plenty of shade! So why not make a day of it? Please note that there will not be any EFTPOS facilities at the event, so cash is the only method of payment accepted on site on the day.
Be sure to visit the event website to register at: www.runwithdad.com.au or take a look at the event Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/runwithdad/.
