If rugby union and local games are your thing, then you’ll want to save these dates: 23rd and 24th January because the Hottest 7’s is kicking off…literally at Rugby Park Marrara! As part of this incredible event, high profile teams from New Zealand, Singapore, Fiji, Hong Kong, Borneo, England, South Africa, Japan, Kenya and Australia will go head to head…as will various women’s teams!
With its history starting back in 1989, the competition has grown in popularity and size and with a prize pool of $65,000, it is actually the richest rugby tournament in the Southern Hemisphere.
Hottest 7’s is a modified version of rugby union where teams have seven players and a match is divided into two halves of not more than seven minutes playing time. To find out more about the rules of this modified game, simply visit:

The event will get started on Friday 22 January with the World Luncheon, which will be held at the Darwin Convention Centre and feature speakers including Peter FitzSimons as guest speaker, and loads of entertainment. This event alone is not to be missed and tickets are still on sale at $170/ticket. Following the lunch, the weekend of rugby will commence the very next day.
Weekend general admission passes start at $25/ticket for the weekend with children under 13 free. You can check out the full ticket options for the games and lunch by visiting http://www.hottest7s.com/about/ticketing/.
A few of us here at Ray White Bayside real estate have been fortunate enough to secure tickets, and if you act now, chances are you will be too!
