Celebrate the end of another successful year at the Deckchair Cinema on Sunday 20 November!

By Korgan Hucent

With our warmer than usual conditions, it’s hard to believe that the Dry has actually been and gone for another year.  That also means that Deckchair Cinema is finishing up for the year, and in true Deckchair style, they are closing the year with celebrations!  On Sunday 20th November from 7.30pm, you can be a part of Closing Night 2016.

The Deckchair Cinema has had a pretty huge year this year, having expanded its dining deck, exceeding 1000 members, saving Jervois Park so the big luxury hotel doesn’t get built and hosting the largest International Film Festival on record!

So, what’s happening on Closing Night?  Deckchair Cinema will feature a huge double screening of Capricornia Film Award winning feature film, ‘The Last Cab to Darwin’, which will be followed by the side-splitting New Zealand comedy, ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’.

Everybody is welcome to be a part of Closing Night, with ticket prices for adults at $16, $12 for concession holders and $10 for Darwin Film Society Members (card required).

You can find the Deckchair Cinema at Jervois Road off Kitchener Drive at the Darwin Waterfront.  Gates will open at 6pm for the film start at 7.30pm.  Bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment and you can book by visiting www.deckchaircinema.com or by visiting the Deckchair Box Office, which is open from 6pm nightly.  Telephone bookings are not available.

For more information, be sure to visit www.deckchaircinema.com.  This event gets the tick of approval from our team here at Ray White Bayside, so if you’ve not yet experienced the delight that is the Deckchair, now is your last chance for the year!
