Top End Gran Fondo is back in 2017 on Sunday 20th August and entries are now open!
Gran Fondo is a huge tradition in the Italian cycling world and it is returning to the Territory for its sixth-year next month. With the meaning “big endurance”, Gran Fondo is a long distance timed event but welcomes cyclists of all abilities. So, whether you’re a competitive pro, an amateur, or just enjoy a recreational spin, then head along and join in!
There will be 3 events; the 120km Full Fondo, the 60km Half Fondo and the 1km Mini Fondo. Get stuck in or go as leisurely as you please – it’s going to be a cycling day of fun either way, and some of the Ray White Bayside Real Estate team can’t wait to get involved!
Entry costs $80 – $150 and there are only 500 places, so be sure to enter soon before the guys from interstate snap them up! Dozens of cyclists from down south venture to our town for the event, to escape their winter and experience the Top End’s famous laidback lifestyle and diverse environment. It’s a great way to meet other cyclists who share your passion!
The event starts and finishes at Darwin Waterfront and depending on which event you choose to take part in, you will have the opportunity to soak up the other beautiful sights such as Darwin Esplanade and even as far as Territory Wildlife Park!
