It’s so hard to believe that Anzac Day is almost here and City of Darwin is hosting a number of commemorative activities to help locals and visitors alike to honour the sacrifices of those men and women who serve and have served for freedom. At 6am at The Cenotaph on the Esplanade the Dawn Service will commence. Always a beautiful and incredibly moving occasion, the Dawn Service is sure to attract plenty of people and 2016 will be no exception. Off-street parking options are available to you, and Chinatown and Westlane Car Park will open from 5am on Anzac Day.
From 7.30am at St Mary’s Cathedral on Smith Street, there will be a special Anzac Day Church Service, open to all who wish to attend. It’s always best to arrive earlier to ensure you can secure a seat in the cathedral, and as per usual, the service is sure to be filled with hymns of gratitude and words of reflection.
At 9am, the Anzac Day Parade will commence and wind its way through the city. Be sure to secure a spot along the planned route, and check it out by visiting;

There will be a number of road closures as to be expected on the day, however City of Darwin offers off-street car parking for free on public holidays. You can check out the off-street car parking options here, as well as information relating to the street closures that will be enforced on the day:

Prepare for a warm day if you are attending the Dawn Service or Parade, and make sure you slip, slop and slap! Always a great idea to ensure you have bottled water with you, to minimise the likelihood of heat stroke.
On behalf of the team at Ray White Bayside Real Estate, we invite you to commemorate Anzac Day in Darwin, by attending any one of the services planned for the day.
