Saturdays are for the Parap Markets!

By Korgan Hucent

One of the greatest things about living here in Darwin is the market culture. We love them so much here that the Parap Markets have been on each and every Saturday since 1982 – rain or shine!

What better way to begin your weekend than a wander through the markets, just five minutes away from the city in Parap Village. Enjoy some multicultural cuisine, browse some Territory hand-made crafts and soak up the laidback vibes. It’s the perfect spot to catch up with friends under the shade of the trees and umbrellas with live music playing weekly. Or maybe you fancy a massage? You can even get your tarot cards read by the local spiritual folk too! There is literally something for everybody and you’re sure to have a great time!

You will be supporting local businesses too! Whether it be trying some dishes from our Asian neighbours, getting in your weekly greens from the local farmer, or buying your cant-live-without beauty products that were made right here in the Top End, you will be making a positive difference to the lives of the business owners and actively contributing to the growth and prosperity of your local community.

So, join the Ray White Bayside team in starting your weekend the right way, and head down to the Parap Markets between 8am and 2pm each Saturday for some proper Territorian atmosphere. Oh, and we recommend getting the Laksa – you won’t regret it! See you there!
