Sample delicious foods, fresh produce and check out locally made crafts at Parap Markets!

By Korgan Hucent

If you’re looking for something fun to do on a Saturday morning, be sure to head down to Parap Village Markets.  Every Saturday of the year, no matter what the weather, the markets are held from 8am until 2pm.

The Parap Village Markets have been a mainstay and regular weekend activity for locals since 1982, when local shopkeepers banded together to establish the markets.  Soon after, the Parap Village Traders Association was formed, and to this day, it plays a role in managing the markets.

Today the market is a hit with locals, including many of our loyal clients here at Ray White Bayside real estate, and of course, with the tourists, most of whom come to visit in the popular Dry Season.  Parap Village Markets are renowned for connecting people with an amazing selection of fresh produce, available at market prices.  From locally grown vegetables and herbs, through to exotic fruit and Asian greens.  You can also experience delicious fruit salads, smoothies, exotic dishes and freshly roasted coffee.

True to form as well, the markets boast a really vibrant and eclectic atmosphere with plenty of musicians entertaining, and local artisans and crafters selling their creations including jewellery, clothing, gems, art and beauty products.  Fresh flowers and a range of plants are also available, and they are a big hit with market goers.

If you haven’t checked out the markets yet, be sure to!  You never know what you might find!
