Mindil Beach Sunset Market is Back!

By Korgan Hucent
If you’ve been hanging out all wet (if you’d call it that this time round!) season for the sights, sounds and tastes of the Mindil Markets, then you’ll be “shine ya rubber thongs” ecstatic to learn that the markets are back for 2016 on Thursday 28th April from 5pm – 10pm!
Be part of this huge event and see for yourself just how amazing the sun looks when it drops into the Arafura Sea! We’re talking here about sunset, not some end of the world apocalypse, so do not worry! And once the sun is down, it’s time to sample from the plethora of food options Mindil Markets are famous for. Choose from Chinese, Thai, Sri Lankan, Indian, Brazilian, Portuguese, Greek and more! You can even sample crocodile would you believe (and yes, it does taste like chicken!).
The markets are also famous for the array of local artisans and the wares available for sale – everything from handmade jewellery and art, to natural remedies and exciting fashions. All locally designed and made!
Also whilst at the markets, you may like to treat yourself to a massage or even a psychic reading if that’s to your liking. And whilst you’re exploring the place, you’ll also enjoy the entertainment provided by buskers, talented performers and bands.
The Mindil Beach Sunset Market really is something you absolutely need to try at least once if you are a local or a visitor to Darwin. Many of us here at Ray White Bayside real estate enjoy making our way down anytime we can, and since the markets are on twice weekly, it’s not too hard to organise a visit.
The markets are on Thursdays from 5pm-10pm and on Sundays from 4pm-9pm, and run until the last Thursday in October, so make sure you experience it for yourself!
