Mindil Beach Sunset Market are turning 30!

Our iconic Dry Season markets our celebrating their 30th year by hosting a three-day Carnival from Thursday 29th June to Sunday 2nd July.

Over the past 30 years, Mindil Beach Sunset Market have supported over 300 local businesses and provided employment for over 1000 workers. Since 1987, thousands upon thousands of locals and tourists have gathered down at Mindil Beach each Thursday and Sunday of the Dry Season for some tasty food, spectacular sunset scenes and maybe even a crack at Mick’s Whips.

Kicking off the Carnival weekend on Thursday night with the usual markets, the proper party will begin on Friday night with live music, a licenced bar and a late night curfew! Prepare to be entertained by Darwin’s most glamorous drag queens and roving performances by various acts in their finest carnival costumes. Oh, and there will be a glitter booth too!  It doesn’t get much more glittery and glamoury than that!

On Saturday, the fun will continue on Territory Day with a free live concert and the fabulous official Territory Day fireworks down on the beach. Sunday will end the Carnival weekend with a full day of fun, including beach activities, workshops for both kids and grownups, and live music. Try your hand at a little art, music, dance, or even a circus workshop – there is something for everyone!
