Ludmilla and Why It’s a Great Idea to Rent in this Darwin Suburb!

By Korgan Hucent

When it comes to choosing a place to rent here in Darwin, chances are you’re going to want to be close to all those essentials such as the city, airport, sporting facilities, public transport, schools, childcare and shopping.  It all depends of course on your lifestyle and what you make a priority in your life.  No matter what your situation, a suburb well worth considering for a rental property is Ludmilla.

The suburb is located just 6.1km from the Darwin CBD and established in 1893, it’s got a pretty long history.  As of 2006, the population of Ludmilla was just shy of 2000 people, and there are a plethora of housing options available for those looking to rent.  From units and villas, to townhouses and houses, you will find plenty of 1970’s dwellings in Ludmilla, with a few newer ones thrown in for good measure.

Here are a few great reasons why you should consider Ludmilla as a Darwin suburb to rent in:

  • It’s close to schools and childcare: With its own primary school, there are other primary and high schools in the neighbouring suburbs of Parap, Fannie Bay and Stuart Park.
  • You’re a stone’s throw from public transport: Whether you’re heading into the city or out to Palmerston, the proximity to Ludmilla to the Stuart Highway is good, and that means you’re close to public transport.
  • Ludmilla is only five minutes’ drive to the Darwin CBD: If you work in the city or like to go there often, this is great news!  We have hardly any traffic either to contend with!
  • You’re not far from the airport or hospital, not to mention shopping centres: It’s good to be close to these amenities.
  • There are plenty of parks just a walking distance away, and you’re not far from the Nightcliff Foreshore or East Point either: Great ideas for the weekend!

So there’s a summary snapshot of this fabulous Darwin suburb plenty of our clients here at Ray White Bayside real estate, call home.  Feel free to call our office today to see what’s available for rent right now in Ludmilla.
