Life’s a beach in Darwin, so who’s up for some sea, sand and play?

By Korgan Hucent

In a bid to get more people involved in the premier off-the-beach sporting and recreational options here in the Top End, The Northern Territory Government and Mix 104.9 are bringing Beach Week to East Point for a day of sea, sand and play.

On Saturday 3rd June, Beach Week will begin with a free family day of fun between 9am and 6pm, at Lake Alexander and East Point Beach. Organisers will be promoting safe practices in the water, appropriate safety gear and encouraging respect for everyone using the harbour and beaches together.

With an exciting variety of giveaways, sporting activities and entertainment, you and the little ones will be entertained for the full day. And of course, all activities will be in a safe, fun and inclusive environment for everyone!  Sounds like a winner, doesn’t it?!

Organisations such as Australian Sailing, Surf Life Saving NT and Fun Supply will be involved in the event, promoting their activities and providing you with all the helpful information you need to keep safe and have loads of fun in and around the water. And stalls from Australia Navy Cadets, Cancer Council NT and Coast Watch NT, to name a few, will be there to teach you the importance of keeping safe on the water.

While you’re busy adulting and enjoying the beautiful Dry Season weather, the kids can be off getting their faces painted, making balloon animals, or getting creative with sand art – there is heaps to do! Some of us here at the Ray White Bayside office will be getting involved in the sand art too, it sounds super fun!

For more information on this free family event, please visit https://www.eventfinda.com.au/2017/2017-beach-week-sea-sand-and-play-day/darwin. We will see you there!
