Get your skates on this Easter!

By Korgan Hucent

Hold on, weren’t we just talking about Christmas and New Year the other week?! Well believe it or not, Easter is just around the corner, and that means it’s time to arrange activities for the school holidays…again!

These school holidays, Darwin have another jam-packed program for the kids but something even more fun is coming to town this Easter – ice skating! And yes adults, you can join in too! There’s no age limit on the rink and that’s something we’re absolutely happy to hear about here at the Ray White Bayside Real Estate team.  We’re ready to lace the skates up and hit the ice…hopefully with the prowess we possessed as kids a few years ago!

Not only is ice skating heaps of fun, it’s also a cool way to keep fit (see what I did there?), and a great way to mingle with others enjoying the icy fun!  Escape the humidity and get your polar on!

It is recommended that you wear warm and comfortable clothes (it is ice after all), but don’t worry, it isn’t going to be too cold for us tropical Darwinites!  Gloves are necessary, socks must be worn under your ice skating boots, and if you have safety gear – helmet, knee pads etc. – then feel free to take them along too! You can never be too careful, hey?

No worries If you forget the socks and gloves though, as they will be available at the rink for a minimal cost.  Nobody wants your toes to get too cold!

The rink will be at Darwin Showgrounds for 11 days, from Friday 7th April to Monday 17th April and it will be open from 9.30am – 7.30pm.  That’s plenty of time to experience this wonderful ice skating opportunity for yourself!  A session will cost $10 and options to rent out the full rink for parties etc. are available (now that would be absolutely fantastic!).   For more information, please visit http://www.aroundyou.com.au/whats-on/events/darwin-ice-skating-at-darwin-showgrounds.
