By Korgan Hucent

Scheduled for Sunday 5th June, the NT City2Surf is on again and is set to be bigger and better than ever!

Each year more people show up to be a part of what quite literally is a landmark event, not just here in Darwin but all over the country. As part of this year’s event, there are three events to choose from:

• The 12km ConocoPhillips City2Surf: This one kicks off at the Darwin Esplanade, right outside the Double Tree by Hilton, and travels out of the city, through the Botanic Gardens, to Darwin High School, through Parap and then onto Dick Ward Drive, where runners take a left onto Progress Drive and run along the waterfront where they will finish at Nightcliff Pool.

• The 4km Donatelife NT Minisurfer: This run starts and finishes at the Nightcliff Pool.

• The ConocoPhillips Marathon4Kids: You can access information on this 1km run by contacting your child’s school.

Entry costs range from $5 for kids participating in the 1km Marathon4Kids, through to $70 for an adult and child registering on the day for the 12km City2Surf, and you can find full fee details by visiting:

http://www.ntcity2surf.com.au/customdata/index.cfm?fuseaction=Display_Image_Listing&CategoryID=3081&OrgID=2045.

All late entries will close at 6.30am sharp on the day of the event, with the 12km event commencing at 7am, followed by the commencement of the 4km event at 7.15am and finally the Marathon4Kids event which will start at 8.45am. At the conclusion of all races, you can prepare yourself for some serious fun because the event has booked out the entire Nightcliff Pool! All participants will get a free swim after their walk or run. More information on this exciting event is available via the link posted earlier in this article, so be sure to check it out and be a part of it!
