Eight Days of Excitement is almost here with the Darwin Cup Carnival!

By Korgan Hucent

One of Darwin’s biggest events is almost here, with an exciting 8-day line up that’s sure to get hearts racing and turn many voices hoarse!  The Darwin Cup Carnival kicks off on Saturday 4th of July and signals the start of eight days of brilliant thoroughbred racing.  Located just a hop, skip and a jump from our Ray White Bayside real estate office, a few of our team will take some time out to get a taste of the action – and we encourage you to as well!

The Darwin Cup Carnival is the premiere racing event to be held at the Darwin Turf Club in Fannie Bay, and its history dates back to 1990, when the inaugural Darwin Cup Carnival was hosted.  At the time, it was a miracle that the event went ahead, given the fact that the racecourse was destroyed by Cyclone Tracy in 1974.  After years of rebuilding the site of the Darwin Turf Club, the Carnival is now one of the country’s most celebrated racing events, and more than one million dollars in prize money has been awarded to participants since the first event.

A variety of ticket options are available, with each day of the carnival offering non-stop entertainment, food, drink and loads of racing.  Locals and newbies alike flock to the carnival to experience the best racing experience this city has to offer, and quite literally there is something for everybody.  Children under 12 are free depending on the day, with some days boasting free for under 18 entry, with adult entry priced at just $20.  Special luncheon packages with inclusions are also available, and you can check out the full package offering here at http://www.darwinturfclub.org.au/carnival/

Well worth checking out, and a great excuse to get all dolled up, so check out the program today and save the date!
