Come be a part of a special community initiative…and meet some of your neighbours!

By Korgan Hucent

It’s all possible thanks to a fabulous idea that was coined by the team at Darwin Community Arts (DCA) and it’s called quite simply, ‘Monthly Community Dinner’.  Held on the evening of the last Monday in each month at 6pm, the event is coordinated by Darwin Community Arts and it all happens at the Chambers Crescent Theatre, on the corner of Malak and Chambers Crescents at the Malak Shopping Centre.

The objective of these events, which will run this year right up until 28th November, is to give members of the community a chance to come together for a night of socialisation and community spirit.  You’ll get to know your neighbours, support your community and best of all, you’ll have a whole lot of fun in the process.  Everybody is welcome to celebrate the diversity of the community!

An all ages event, there’s always loads of great entertainment and of course, delicious food.  You just bring your own plate, fork and drinking cup if you can, and by doing so, you’ll keep waste to a minimum and do your part to create a cleaner environment.

Catering is provided by the dedicated volunteers at Darwin Community Arts, and local artists will entertain you.

Although technically a free event, donations are warmly appreciated and will help cover the costs of catering.

This year’s Monthly Community Dinners are scheduled for 7pm on each of the following dates:

  • Monday 26th September
  • Monday 31st October
  • Monday 28th November

For more information on these fabulous events, which the team here at Ray White Bayside gives a big thumbs up to, visit: http://www.eventfinda.com.au/2016/community-arts-monthly-dinner/darwin/malak. Be a part of the community today because a stranger is simply a friend we’ve not met yet!
