Celebrate Water Safety Week at the Waterfront on Sunday 25th September!

By Korgan Hucent

That’s because this particular Sunday is the Splashfest Family Fun Day, which celebrates Water Safety Week!  It’s all going to be starting at 9am on Sunday 25th September at the Darwin Waterfront, and running right up until 1pm.  The Darwin Waterfront is always such a popular place to check out on weekends, and so many of us here at Ray White Bayside real estate can vouch for it as a great place to hang out and enjoy great food and a few cold drinks!

The line-up for Splashfest looks like a heap of fun too with plenty of free, live entertainment for the entire family, as well as bouncy castles, waterslides, temporary waterproof tattoos, craft workshops and so much more!  And in addition to the actual events that will be happening on the day as part of Splashfest, you can check out a huge range of cafes and restaurants to grab a bite to eat or something to drink!

The event itself, as mentioned, is celebrating Water Safety Week, and everybody unanimously agrees that the skills that keep us safe in and around the water cannot be overemphasised.  On the day, you will be able to grab a load of information on water safety, and there will also be demonstrations by the Lifeguards which may give you the instruction you could one day rely on to save a life!

The event is part of a Northern Territory Government initiative and plays a huge role in educating people on vital water safety information.  It’s sure to be a great day, so make sure you get down to the Darwin Waterfront on Sunday 25th September to be a part of it!  For more information on this or any of the other great events planned for the Darwin Waterfront, simply visit: http://www.waterfront.nt.gov.au/events/.
