Be a Fundraising Foodie for the Evening at Foodbank!

By Korgan Hucent

Foodbank NT is the largest hunger relief organisation in the Northern Territory, and they are inviting you to their Warehouse Dinner on Monday 19th June to raise money for a wonderful cause.

Foodbank NT collects “surplus” foods from retailers and producers, and distributes it equally to people in need across the Territory, including organisations such as Red Cross Australia and The Salvation Army. By doing this, Foodbank represents a huge cost saving to the welfare agencies by allowing them to focus their funding on counselling, crisis support and other vital services.

Following the huge success of last year, Foodbank will be hosting another gourmet dining experience in their Berrimah warehouse, which will be cooked by Top End celebrity chefs using donated food from the Foodbank. David (Daisy) Taylor, NT winner of the 2016 Australia’s Local Hero Award, will be joining Rachael Ciesiolka from Rachael’s Seafood Shack and Salvam Kandasamay from Saffrron, to create some delicious treats for their guests.

With over 140 people attending last year’s Warehouse Dinner, they’re expecting huge numbers again this year, so the chefs are set to have a very busy evening on their hands! Last year’s event also raised a whopping $100,000 too! How amazing is that? The Ray White Bayside team hope at least a few of us will be able to head along to do our bit and of course, enjoy the yummy food.

Tickets for the fundraising evening are $180 and all proceeds go to Foodbank NT. The dinner will begin at 7 pm, so make sure you get there for 6.30pm to be seated. For more information and to buy tickets, please visit https://www.foodbanknt.org.au/dinner/.
