Are You Ready to go The Mitchell Street Mile?

By Korgan Hucent

If you’re up for a fun or serious 1.6km (that’s one mile!) run, then make sure you register for the Mitchell Street Mile, which will be held on Sunday 20th September from 3.30pm.  Hosted by Athletics Northern Territory, this new sporting event is sure to attract runners, fun runners and local and visiting spectators, ready to cheer on the runners as they run up and down Mitchell Street, Darwin.

Up for grabs is the newly-declared, prestigious title of Fastest Mitchell Miler!  There will be nine races across eight categories scheduled for the day, including but not limited to, the 12 Years and Under Race, Defence and Services Race, Elite Male and Elite Female.  There will be prizes for best dressed for those participating in the Fun Run.

Each race will start at the junction of Mitchell and Bennett Streets outside the Deck Bar, travelling along Mitchell Street, and then back to the finish line, which is where the race also started.

Registering your spot is easy!  Just visit http://www.mitchellstreetmile.com.au/event-details/entry-fees/ and save the date to be a part of something really fun!
